How to retrieve a water sample from your pool/spa
It sounds simple enough doesn't it? But in order for your BioGuard dealer to give you accurate recommendations on your pool or spa water, they must first start with a "good" sample of water.
  1. Make sure the water has been circulating (pump running) for at least 24 hours.
  2. Go to an area of the pool that is NOT in the direct flow from a return inlet.
  3. Take a clean container (preferably a BioGuard water sample bag or bottle) and submerge the container "elbow deep" under the surface of the water.
  4. Fill the container to the top and cap (or zip)
  5. Take the sample directly to your BioGuard Authorized Dealer for a complete water analysis test.
Do not:
  • Collect sample in uncleaned containers(soda bottles and pickle jars are not good choices)
  • Leave the sample in your hot car

If you have not been to this BioGuard Dealer before, take the time to record some critical information about your pool/spa before you go.

  • Approximate gallonage
  • Measure the size of the pool/spa (length & width)
  • Depth of deepest area
  • Depth of the shallowest area
  • Type of pool/spa surface (plaster, vinyl, fiberglass, etc.)
  • Type of filter, sand, cartridge, Diatomaceous Earth (look on manufacturers ID plate on the side of the tank)
  • Type of Chemicals used (Brand and amount on hand)

Frequently Asked Questions.

Q.  How do I select the right pool builder?

Interview your prospective builder carefully.

  • What is his reputation in the community?
  • Do you know a friend or neighbor who has used
the same company with good results?
  • How long has your contractor been in business
    and what is his experience?
  • How is his standing with your local Building Department,
the State Department of Consumer Affairs and/or
    Contractor's Board?
  • Are you comfortable that your property will be treated
    with dignity and respect?

At Skyview Pools, customer service is the first and foremost
concern for our entire staff.  We believe our expertise in
construction, our experience in all types of challenges, and
our effort to provide supreme service to all customers is not
matched in the pool industry.

Q.  I sometimes see advertisements promising pools
at very low prices.
Can I/should I buy a pool like this?

It is possible to build a pool at a very low price.  But you
should be aware that to build a very low cost pool,
equipment, structural elements, craftsmanship, and design
are compromised.

At Skyview Pools, we have learned that the cost difference
between a great job and a poor one does not have to be
significant.  Your Skyview Pool professional will help you
determine a budget and secure financing that works for you.
We will design your pool to fit within those financial parameters
you set, and will give you quality and beauty you can depend on.

Q.  Why do cost estimates vary when the pools seem
to be the same?

The price of a pool is determined by much more than just the
size and shape of that pool.  And, unfortunately, many
contractors do not include some of the most important factors
affecting cost in their printed estimates.
Those factors include:

  • Craftsmanship
  • Quality of materials
  • Design
  • Underground strength and durability
  • Customer Service
  • Time required for construction
  • Warranties

Skyview Pools estimates incorporate the highest quality
materials, craftsmanship, design, and customer service.
In addition, Skyview Pools never submits a low introductory
bid with the intent of making expensive changes later during construction.

Q.  What options are available to add to my pool?

Technology is changing at an unprecedented rate, and
swimming pools are no exception.  Innovative water treatment
options, fiber-optic lighting, spa products, remote controls,
automatic cleaning systems, and many other options are
available now to make your pool easier and more enjoyable
than ever.  Tell us what you would like to do...and we can
show you how to do it.

Q.  How should I decide on the design of my pool?

At your request, a design expert from Skyview Pools will meet
with you at your home to discuss your pool needs and desires.
He or she will ask you how you intend to use your pool.  Is
exercise important?  How about family use?  Where will the
pool look best when viewed from your home?  Our expert will
prepare a custom design....a design that fits your needs
AND your budget!

Q.  What factors affect the cost of my swimming pool?

Surprisingly, construction costs for the pool structure itself do
not vary much from pool to pool.  Prices can be affected slightly
by ease of access onto your property, demolition requirements
prior to construction, and local permit costs.  The size and
design of the pool affect cost, too, but not as much as you
might think.

Much of the variation in price is based on what is called
"hardscape."  Hardscape is what is placed around your pool
to enhance its design.  The size and materials used in your
deck, patios, waterfalls, gazebos, planter walls, and many
other features can be simple or sensational.  As the customer,
you have the greatest influence on your total budget as you
control the design of your pool's hardscape.

Q.  Is financing readily available for this type of project?

The design and installation of a swimming pool is considered
"home improvement," and most financial institutions are
anxious to loan you money for this type of work.  When
completed, your pool adds substantial value to your property.
 A well-built
Skyview Pool is an asset when you decide to sell
your home.

Another financing consideration is the probability that all
interest costs on your loan will be tax deductible, which
helps reduce the actual cost of your investment.  At Skyview
Pools, we stay constantly in touch with the leading financial
institutions in your area and can provide you with information
and assistance in obtaining easy financing for your swimming
pool project.

Q.  What about warranties?  Is my investment well-protected?

Warranties are very important.  At Skyview Pools, we provide
you with the strongest guarantee in the swimming pool industry.
We are confident in the product we build and we offer a warranty
that backs up our confidence.  You should always ask for and
compare the warranties when requesting estimates from builders.
You should also remember that a warranty is only as good as
the company that issues it.  Skyview Pools has been building
pools since 1965. We build our pools to last, and we will always
be here to stand behind your swimming pool in the future.
Anyone can offer a "lifetime warranty," but if they aren't in
business for the duration of your pool's life, then you haven't
got much of a warranty at all.

Q.  How much work is involved in owning and caring for a
          swimming pool?

With today's conveniences, owning a swimming pool is easier
than owning a car!  Pool chemical testing and maintenance,
cleaning, and preprogrammed filtration and heating can all be
automated if you choose to include these options during your construction.  Automatic pool cleaners and various sanitizing
devices make your pool a pleasure to maintain.  Your only
concern will be finding more time to enjoy your pool or spa!

BACK

Q.  Should I consider building my own pool as a homeowner?

Never!  Even experts encounter challenges during pool
construction.  Years of experience, knowledge, and training
lead to wise solutions which give high-quality finished products.
At Skyview Pools, we can offer efficient buying power, swift
construction time, and coordination with all crews so that you
have no hassles, no headaches, and no cost overruns.  Be
assured that equipment suppliers and contractors will charge
you more than the actual value of the work.  With a Skyview
Pool, you come out the winner with an outstanding, well-built, guaranteed project every time.
